Some background history; In late 2018 Rosa and Terry had the fortunate opportunity of crossing paths, let's just say the rest is history and the future unlimited! While Honeymooning in Arizona in the crazy year of 2020 an opportunity to start a shredding business presented itself and we embarked on a journey that allows us to not only start this new and exciting adventure but also will allow us the ability to provide opportunities for others and highlight our Veterans while we give back to those who have sacrificed so much to provide liberties and freedoms to so many of us here in the United States of America.
Rosa:
While working as a paramedic and now the Director of EMS for Kiowa County for over 25 years, Rosa is well aware of the ever-present need for confidentiality and as she transitions from this career field to the shredding industry, it has been a seamless, natural transition.
Terry:
Manufacturing and processes have always been in the forefront of everyday life for Terry. So how can "Destruction" be more efficient...? That's what Terry intends to do and provide the most value to our customers. After conversations with associates and businesses, Terry quickly learned that there is opportunity to provide great customer service and responsiveness in this industry.
Veteran Shredding:
Here is where the rubber meets the road. Veteran Shredding is more than a name, it is a way of doing life! So many have sacrificed for this great country and as a civilian, how do you give back to those that have gave so much? The original Veteran Shredding was first established in Minnesota by Dave Bixler, a veteran. We received Dave's blessing at the creation process of this business and committed to uphold the integrity of the original business. Veteran Shredding Kansas is a minority woman owned business and our goals are quite clear; Great service, responsiveness, integrity and most of all keeping your business confidential! Every year Veteran Shredding Kansas LLC commits to donating to local veteran's organizations in our community. We will post those in the fourth quarter of every year on our website and highlight those, so stay tuned. If you are a veteran and doing business with us, please be sure to mention that and a discount will be offered.
Owner / Operator - Rosa started her career in EMS in 1993 as a volunteer EMT for the ambulance service (now known as Kiowa County EMS) which was run by the local hospital. She obtained her E.M.I.C.T. certification from Southwestern College in 1995. Rosa worked at M.A.S.T. in Kansas City and Sedgwick County EMS before returning to KCEMS in 2009 and became the Kiowa County EMS Director in 2014.
While some people spend their whole life wondering "Did I make a difference..." Rosa has spent a lifetime making an impact on others.
Operations Manager - Terry has been in manufacturing since 1987 and has continued to expand his career and skillsets. Starting with a A.A.S. in Tool & Die Making then returning to College while raising two sons to receive a B.S. in Operations Management from Southwestern College in 2012. With Supply Chain & Manufacturing Engineering experience, Terry continues to find ways to improve and lean out processes to ensure cost effective solutions for your business needs.
We had a pleasant surprise on photo shoot day! A visit by the grand dogs!
